What do you get if you combine top-tier ice breaking capability, extensive adventure equipment, and luxury living spaces? Nansen Explorer. As one of 10 sisterships, Nansen Explorer has risen from the ranks to stand out from her contemporaries. With the benefit of a significant refit in 2022, and having been brought up to class, her commercially certified helipad – with a registered capacity of 4.8 tonnes – the addition of stern thrusters and her much larger lounge area, which features a bar for guests, enlarged windows, and high ceilings, sets her apart from the rest.

On Board
Perfectly at home in off-the-beaten-track areas such as Antarctica or Svalbard, Nansen facilitates the ultimate adventures – either as a superbly-equipped support vessel (the yacht carries large amounts of fuel to be able to refuel helicopters or indeed a mothership) or as a standalone expedition vessel. Offering accommodation for up to 12 guests in seven double cabins and 17 crew cabins, plus 1 medic’s cabin, her Scandi chic living areas are tranquil and tasteful, providing a luxurious environment for relaxation in between adventures.
On Board
Functionality is in her DNA; Nansen Explorer has the ability to launch her Zodiacs quickly, deploy fast heli ops from her large helideck and offer all the required equipment from her adventure hangar. Owned and operated by experienced expedition yacht specialists, and named after Norway’s most famous and well-liked expeditionist, Nansen Explorer is a unique proposition.
On Board
Cool and contemporary Scandi design characterizes Nansen Explorer’s interior spaces. Comfortable and spacious, there is plenty of scope for relaxation back on board after some serious adventure outside. With a generously-sized gym on board too, there’s every opportunity for activity.
On Board
The well-considered layout includes a mudroom, where guests can dispense with any specialist equipment or outerwear as they return from their excursions before heading into the warmth beyond.
