Playa Herradura to Marina Papagayo. Discover Costa Rica, an adventurer’s dream. A peaceful idyll. Wildlife wherever you turn.
Day 01
Your yacht will be waiting for you in one of Costa Rica’s best marinas, Los Suenos Marina, a spectacular 25 minute helicopter ride from San Jose. The marina is part of the Los Suenos Ocean and Golf Resort, offering golf, a spa and lively bars. Playa Herradura and Jaco are also close by, with great restaurants and stunning volcanic dark sand beaches.
Board the yacht and take a sunset cruise on the tender to get the lay of the land and take in the geography of this stunning destination. Enjoy the paddleboards and Waverunners, walk on the beach or go inshore fishing on the specialist tender.
Day 02
Costa Rica’s Quepos region is famed for the Manuel Antonio National Park, where palms sway and monkeys play alongside the crystal clear waters of the Pacific. Arrive at the park by tender and follow the easily navigable trail, with the assistance of a knowledgeable private guide. Wander the rainforest spotting howler, capuchin and squirrel monkeys, sloths and other animals. Afterwards, take a dip in the ocean before the crew transports you back for a fantastic lunch.
Spend the evening in the protected Marina Pez Vela. Enjoy sunset cocktails on the flybridge watching fishing vessels of all sizes return to the marina with their catch of the day. Take a walk down the dock to get in the mood for tomorrow morning’s fishing excursion.
Day 03
Head out early on a tender for your adventure in some of the world’s best fishing grounds. The experienced crew along with a local fishing guide will take you to the heart of the action. Expect Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Tuna, and Mahi Mahi in abundance. Experience a full day or half day of fishing – the choice is yours.
No fishing? No problem. Take in the area’s world-class beaches, fun beach bars, local Costa Rican villages and unique shopping instead. Braver guests can venture into the river mouths on an estuary tour with a private guide to search for the reclusive American Crocodile.
Day 04
Wake up at the stunning quiet Drake Bay, nestled in dense rainforest that flows down to the harbour. A small eco resort village is an inviting spot for a fresh juice or locally inspired cuisine.
Drake Bay’s main attraction is its proximity to Isla Cano, a Jurassic Park style island about 12 miles to the west in the crystal clear blue waters of the Pacific. A protected park, it offers world class snorkelling and diving, with whale sharks, manta rays, huge schools of pelagic fish and bright colourful corals.
Back in Drake Bay, explore on the yacht’s Waverunners, which will be ready to take you into one of the nearby jungle estuaries. Look out for howler monkeys, scarlet macaws and freshwater turtles as you cruise a land seemingly untouched by humans.
Day 05
The crew will lift anchor early to head north to the Nicoya Peninsula. This protected area of islets offers white sandy beaches lined with some of the tallest palm trees you’ll ever see. Snorkel, paddleboard, beachcomb and relax surrounded by the towering cliffs of this Pacific peninsula.
Explore the far reaches of the peninsula to Cabo Blanco. Pods of 1,000+ spinner dolphins, breaching whales, fantastic snorkelling and untouched beaches are our reward for venturing off the beaten track. For a lower-key option, we will string a hammock between two palms and pour you a frozen cocktail.
Finish the afternoon with a beach game of Bocce Ball or a quiet tour around the deserted bays via kayak or paddleboard.
Day 06
Flamingo Bay, located on the northern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula, is an attractive day stop to explore by tender. The peninsula’s protected beaches include Tamarindo, a bustling surfers’ village with great shops & restaurants and a beach that’s ideal for learning to surf.
Jump on a paddleboard, kayak or Waverunner to the beach, or explore and fish the surrounding bays in the yacht’s tender. A short walk up the hill of the Flamingo Peninsula offers stunning views of Brasalito Bay and is an excellent spot to sip a cocktail and watch the sunset over the Pacific.
Day 07
The yacht will take a fantastic berth in the resort of Marina Papagayo, nestled deep into the Bahia Culebra. This Marina is conveniently located just off the gorgeous Papagayo Four Seasons resort, offering world-class golf, a stunning spa and a top rated restaurant. The area's inshore fishing is excellent too, with abundant Roosterfish, Mahi Mahi, Mackerel, and Tuna.
On the west side of the peninsula, accessible only by small boat, many palm-lined beaches are perfect for a picnic or a game of horseshoes. This area is also a good base for exploring Costa Rica’s inland beauty. Trek Rincón De Vieja to swim in waterfalls, thermal pools, and boiling mud pits, or challenge yourself to take the on Arenal Volcano trail, a rustic rainforest path surround by the still-active volcano.
Day 08
